This website exists for one clear purpose: to provide honest, firsthand information about Batir Construction Ltd. and its owners, Fidelis and Felicita Maiba. Their official website makes sweeping promises — but our lived experience shows a very different reality.

Their Claims vs. Our Experience

Claim: “We use highest quality materials, ensuring durability, sustainability, and superior performance.”
Reality: The “highest quality” materials quoted in the contract were quietly swapped for cheaper alternatives. For example, discounted C-choice lumber replaced the specified timber, undermining both durability and stability. Corners were cut everywhere materials could be downgraded, always to Batir’s advantage.

Claim: “Our team consists of skilled professionals dedicated to excellence, innovation, and delivering projects on time.”
Reality: The “team” was largely made up of local herdsmen, who seemed to view simply showing up as the job itself. Each morning they gathered at our gate and were then tasked with mixing concrete unsupervised — and judging by the methods used, we have no doubt a comprehensive strength test would show the concrete failing outright. Skilled professionals? No. Innovation? Nonexistent. On-time delivery? The project was abandoned before completion.

Claim: “Innovative designs tailored to enhance functionality and aesthetics.”
Reality: The shell constructed didn’t even have the potential to resemble the architectural drawings, let alone an “innovative design.” Work was careless, misaligned, and executed with such lack of precision that no amount of finishing could ever bring it up to what had been promised.

Claim: “Rigorous standards and procedures to ensure top-tier construction quality.”
Reality: The only consistent “procedure” was speed and cost-cutting. Water hoses stood in for spirit levels (laser levels were out of the question). Electrical back boxes were hacked into place with hammers and chisels. Roofing crews showed up with a hammer, saw, and tape measure — but no pencils, squares, screws, or drills. Standards? None to be found.

Claim: “Comprehensive oversight from inception to completion of construction projects.”
Reality: Oversight consisted of a 24-year-old “project manager” with no relevant experience, more interested in his phone than in the site. He provided no leadership, no quality control, and no meaningful guidance. “Comprehensive” oversight turned out to mean absenteeism until the next payment was due.

Claim: “Our skilled team combines decades of experience with advanced technology to ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship and durability.”
Reality: While we cannot say what the industry’s “highest standards” might look like, we can say with certainty that Batir Construction does not come close. The work we saw was crooked, misaligned, and riddled with errors. If “decades of experience” were involved, it did not show. As for “advanced technology,” not a single tool beyond the most basic hand implements appeared on site.

Claim: “We prioritize delivering quality services by ensuring precision, adherence to standards, and customer satisfaction in every project.”
Reality: Precision was absent from day one. Columns weren’t plumb, walls weren’t square, and no part of the structure was level. Adherence to standards was replaced with shortcuts, and customer satisfaction was never a visible priority. The only thing Batir Construction seemed to prioritize was prompt collection of payments.

Claim: “Batir Construction Company excels in innovative precast concrete solutions, ensuring durability and efficiency in every project.”
Reality: Efficiency applied only to extracting payments. The precast components we saw were poorly handled, badly installed, and lacking in durability. Innovation was nowhere in sight.

Claim: “We guarantee timely completion and exceptional results for all our construction endeavors.”
Reality: Our project was left abandoned before even the shell was completed. There was nothing timely, nothing exceptional, and certainly nothing guaranteed.

Our Mission

What Fidelis and Felicita Maiba present on their official platforms is polished marketing. What they delivered in practice, as we personally witnessed, was negligence, amateurism, and broken promises.

We do not share this lightly. Our only objective is to help others — especially diaspora clients, who are particularly vulnerable due to distance — to make informed decisions before entrusting QS Fidelis Maiba and Batir Construction Ltd. with their projects.
